Rate players and develop them

Where are your players' strengths, where is there room to improve, and who is in form right now? In bolzn you create your own skills, assess every player in them and rate performance after matches and training sessions – making player development visible.

Skills assessment

Create your own skills

You decide what matters for your team: create your own attributes and assign them to categories such as mentality, physical, tactics, technique or goalkeeping – for example first touch, dribbling, ball control, passing, weaker foot or finishing.

Assess every player

When rating, you go through the players one by one: enter values for each attribute, save and move on to the next player. The skills chart shows each player's profile as a radar chart on a scale up to 10, plus the average.

Strengths and weaknesses in the team

The overview shows all players with their average per category. That way you see at a glance where the team is strong and what to work on in training – you'll find suitable drills in the Drill library. New players in the squad are assessed just as quickly, and you can see where they fit into the team.

Rate performance and track form

Rating after every match

After the match you rate your players' performance directly in the event. The ratings build a form curve for every player.

The form check

The form check shows, for the whole team and for each player, the average rating, the form curve and how many events it is based on. You filter by matches or training sessions and sort by form or name – so you quickly see who is on a run and who is going through a dip.

Conversations with substance

Whether it's season planning, a change of position or a talk with a player and their parents: with the skills chart and form curve your assessment is on record, instead of relying only on your gut feeling from last weekend.

How it works in three steps

1. Set attributes

Create the skills that matter to you and assign them to the categories. You can edit them at any time.

2. Assess players

Go through the players one after another and enter the values. The skills chart builds up straight away.

3. Track performance

Rate performance after matches and training sessions. In the form check you follow how every player develops over the season.

Player ratings on video

Two short tutorials show how to create and rate skills and how to assess your players' performance after an event.

You can find more guides in the Tutorials on the home page and on our YouTube channel.

Frequently asked questions

Do player ratings cost extra?

No. Skills, performance ratings and the form check are part of the bolzn team plan – together with training & matches, Training planning, team kitty and Inventory. You can try it free for the first 3 months; for all prices see Pricing.

Can I set my own skills?

Yes. You create your own attributes and assign them to categories such as mentality, physical, tactics, technique or goalkeeping.

What is the difference between skills and performance?

Skills describe what a player can fundamentally do, for example in passing or dribbling. Performance is rated per event – that builds the form curve in the form check.

Can I rate training sessions too?

Yes. In the form check you can filter by matches or training sessions and see how many events a player's rating is based on.

Is this suitable for youth teams?

Yes. Especially in youth football it helps to record development over the season. You decide which skills to rate – to suit the age group.
